Aberfeldie is a small, quiet suburb situated to the south west of Essendon. It borders the Maribyrnong River, and as a result boasts an abundance of parks, reserves and walking tracks. Sporting facilities and clubs line the river as well, making the area popular with young families.
Buckley Street is a favourite for shopping, particularly heading into Essendon near the station, where Sherbourne Street intersects. There is a diverse mix of houses in the area, from inter-war California bungalows, to modern and stylish homes.
Ave Maria College, a highly ranked Catholic secondary girls' school, is located in Aberfeldie. In Essendon, there are a number of other reputable private schools including Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School and St Bernard's College. Four bus routes serve the area, while Essendon and Moonee Ponds train stations on the Craigieburn line are only a short distance away.
